NEW FORMAT! Academy or Expert

The desert makes no concessions. How you choose to face it is up to you!
Crossing the Sahara in a Panda 4x4 is the goal. How you get there depends on your experience. As soon as our wheels hit the sand, the group will split into two distinct factions, ready to experience the Panda Desert 2027 according to their skill level.

What’s the difference?

FORMULA ACADEMY: Learn to master the sand. If it’s your first time in the dunes, feeling uncertain is normal but it shouldn't hold you back. The Academy Format is designed to give you the keys to understanding the desert through a gradual, educational approach, right out in the field. So that you can face the rest of the event with peace of mind, on the first day, you’ll tackle intensive theory and practice sessions: learning driving techniques to avoid getting stuck, how to handle tricky sections, and essential vehicle recovery maneuvers. You can clear up any doubts by openly discussing experiences with desert veterans or, even better, with our guide Arbi, who was born in the desert and knows it like the back of his hand. No "golden filters" here, just professional secrets to turn fear into total control of your vehicle and navigation.

FORMULA EXPERT: Test your limits. If you already have miles of desert driving under your belt, you know exactly what it means to get high-centered and how to dig yourself out of a jam... For you, the sand isn't new: it’s a challenge to be tackled all over again. While the Academy focuses on training, the Expert crews immediately face a technical, complex, and demanding course. It is a route designed to refresh your memory and remind you right away what it truly means to drive on sand, to feel small amidst the vastness of the desert, and above all to shovel and sweat... You will navigate independently, testing your reflexes and your Panda’s durability, all while knowing that a staff support vehicle is ready to step in should the need arise. Pure adrenaline, skill, and navigation.

For your safety, a satellite tracker will be installed on each vehicle, allowing you to send a message directly to the organization and the staff's satellite phones in the event of serious, unresolvable mechanical problems or a medical emergency. Furthermore, thanks to this system, we will be able to track and see you in real time wherever you are. We will provide you with a link displaying the positions of the cars on each special stage and track you tackle during the trip, which you can share with anyone who would like to follow you on your adventure through the desert dunes. Thanks to the identification numbers on your cars' liveries, the staff will be able to quickly identify the crew. For 2027, we have once again integrated and implemented the satellite system with a GPS tracker to offer you the best possible service. This will allow us to have even more precise and rapid tracking, to assess any errors made by the crews during the optional skill tests.

Recommendations and Road Safety

All crews must comply with the rules set by the host country's Highway Code (where applicable). Seat belts are mandatory.
Compared to Europe, any accident in Tunisia is much more complex to manage, both due to the legislation and the precarious health situation; the organization therefore recommends always proceeding in complete safety. Be aware of your driving, orientation, and navigation skills, and of your ability to perform mechanical repairs on your vehicle. Also, while maintaining the principle of prudence, consider the weather and terrain conditions you are tackling.
It is mandatory to refuel the vehicle at any distributor indicated by the organization.

If it's impossible to continue during a stage, the organization will provide vehicle recovery up to the first available tow truck location (the latter is subject to a fee). Please note that the organization does not provide vehicle return to the Tunisian port, nor from the port of Genoa to your home.

Basic medical care will be provided throughout the tour.

The organization declines all responsibility for individual or group travel outside of the program.
